MD Psychiatry & DM in Addiction Medicine (NIMHANS)

Dr. Sudheendra Huddar completed his MBBS from BIMS, Belgaum a government medical college. He pursued my post-graduation in Psychiatry from the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru. He was an additional specialization for 3 years in Addiction Medicine/Psychiatry (DM in Addiction Psychiatry) from Centre for Addiction Medicine, NIMHANS. He is the first in Mumbai/Maharashtra with this specialization. He also worked as senior resident at SDM Medical college, Dharwad and National Drug Dependence Centre (NDDTC), AIIMS Delhi. His clinical experience comes from intensive clinical work over the past 7 years. He is fortunate enough to have had an opportunity to work at best institutes of India and learn psychiatry and Addiction Medicine from seeing wide variety of cases and being supervised by international experts in this field. He also trained post graduates, therapists, medical officers and other mental health professionals in different domains of psychiatry.

He has been trained to offer the following treatments:-

1. Diagnosis and management/treatment of all substance use disorders – Includes management of acute withdrawal and long-term treatment.

2. Management of Dual diagnosis (Ex- Depression+ Alcohol dependence)

3. Diagnosis and treatment of Behavioural Addiction (Gambling, excessive gaming etc)

4. Consultation liaison Psychiatry (Gastroenterologists, Neurologists, pulmonologists, oncologists)

5. Counselling services for all psychiatric conditions – CBT, RPT, MET, DBT etc.

6. Pre-transplant and post-transplant assessment.

7. Childhood and Adult ADHD

8. Conducting training programmes/workshops for psychiatrists , psychologists and other mental health professionals

9. Diagnosis and treatment of all other psychiatric conditions.
